Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is located  126 kilometer west of Arusha Town and northern part of Tanzania. The area of the park is sized 330 square kilometers,220 sq kilometers form a lake when the water levels become high during the rainy season.

The park is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa’s most well-known animals, with the tree-climbing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed. Other animals present here includes elephants, giraffes,wildebeest buffalo,zebras,waterbucks just to mention but a few .

Bird-watchers will find Lake Manyara an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly colored lilac breasted roller.

Lake Manyara has 11 ecosystems and it supports one of the highest biomass densities of large mammals in the world.

The park can be easily be  accessed by road and by air. Lake Manyara is an all year destination though the best time is during the dry season which runs from late June to September.
