Mount Kenya National Park” SECOND TALLEST MOUNTAIN IN AFRICA”

The park is located 175 Kms from Nairobi, the park can be accessed  on Nanyuki-Isiolo road via Sirimon Track or Nyeri-Nanyuki road near Naro Moru. The park was  established in 1949 to protect Mount Kenya  and the wildlife .

Mount Kenya National Park is home to the second tallest mountain in Africa standing a magnificent 5199m (17,057 feet) be, The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking.

Animals found in this park  includes Elephants, bushbucks, waterbuck, elands, mongoose, antelopes the bird life is also very prolific including the huge eagles and colorful birds. It is pristine wilderness with glaciers, dense forest lakes, tarns, and springs.

Visitors can enjoy mountain climbing, camping and caving with the mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop.

The best months for climbing are January,February August and September.During the two rainy seasons, the trails are more difficult, and the visibility is poor.

Mount Kenya climbing can be done in 4 /5/6 days based on the clients budget and the amount of time they have for the holiday .Bring with you  walking boots,warm clothing,hat,sunscreen,sunglasses and any other personal item you find necessary .Our professional and certified guides will accompany you throughout your stay.

Besides Mountain climbing  there are other activities in this park i e: Camping, Cave exploration and   Game Viewing .On accommodation, inside the park there are Self catering bandas for Kenya Wildlife Services and Campsites. For those clients preferring flying packages ,Nanyuki airstrip is only located few Kilometers from the park.
